Installation of Officers Held Sunday, June 11th

New Post Commander Bill Patton rings the Commander's bell for the first time at Sunday's installation.

The installation of Post officers was held Sunday, June 11th in the Ballroom. The newly elected officers of the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, and the Auxiliary were sworn in.

Mother's Day Sunday Breakfast a Huge Success

An enthusiastic group of volunteers served the Mother's Day Sunday Breakfast to almost 200 people this past Sunday morning. A special thanks to the following Legionnaires, S.A.L., and Auxiliary that helped out:

Post 177 Members Support Boy Scout Troop 1887

Adult Leaders from Post 177 have dedicated many hours to Troop 1887 over the past year. Members contributing their time include: Eddie Camper, Roy DeLauder, Tom DeShazo, Kurt Khol, James Miller, Annie Peterson, Torre Peterson, and Carl Swanson.

These members dedicated 5,850 hours in support of the Troop by attending meetings, activities, training, service projects, weekend camping, and summer camp. They logged a total of 15,000 miles driving scouts and equipment to scout activities.

Miss Poppy 2006 Receives Proclamation from Fairfax Mayor

Miss Poppy, Miranda Maurer, receives proclamation from Fairfax City Mayor Robert F. Lederer.

Miss Poppy, Miranda Maurer, received the proclamation for Poppy Month last night from Fairfax City Mayor, Robert F. Lederer at a ceremony held at City Hall. Following the presentation, Miranda recited the poem "In Flanders Field" to the City Council.
